Hamlets and Villages

Clackamas County’s Hamlets & Villages were first established in 2006 after a lengthy conversation with citizens about how they connected with the County. The Complete Communities process, an effort to improve the communication and connection between the citizenry and the County, took three years and involved a committee of 65 members representing all areas of the County. Currently there are four Hamlets and one Village.

While each Hamlet or Village has unique goals and activities, they share a common interest in retaining the flavor of their community, promoting activities to benefit the community, working with the County and outside organizations and providing their citizens increased access to and information about the County. Each group has a slightly different way of achieving these goals. The structure of Hamlets and Villages is composed of a directly elected Board of Directors, with officers being chosen by each board. All of the Hamlets &Villages have committees which meet at times other than the board meetings and work on specific areas of interest.
