Temporary Status Employment Opportunities
County departments may hire and employ individuals in a temporary or seasonal status. These positions are compensated at an hourly rate that has been established in the County’s compensation plan. A temporary status or seasonal status position does not receive benefits or leave accruals. Temporary employment is generally limited to projects or assignments that last less than six months in duration or which have hours that are less than half-time for an unlimited duration of time. Seasonal employment may continue beyond six months to accommodate the season in which work can be accomplished outside.

Animal Health Technician - Temporary/On-Call Relief
$17.27 Hourly
Clackamas County Dog Services is seeking on-call relief Animal Health Technicians to work with the Shelter Veteranarians at the Clackamas County Dog Shelter.
This position works directly with and provides support to the Shelter Veterinarian. Animal Health Technicians provide paraprofessional veterinary care for animals in the care an custody of Dog Services; consults with the Primary Veterinarian about animal medical care and problems; assists with medical and surgical procedures, including set-up and clean-up before and after surgery; prepares and administers medications and preventive vaccinations, including maintenance of drug logs; applies and removes wound and surgical dressings, casts and splints; transports sick or seriously injured animals to the veterinarian.
Successful applicants must have a Euthanasia Technician Certificate issued by the State of Oregon and must be a Certified Veterinary Technician - Certificate issued by the Oregon Veterinary Medical Board (OAR 075-030-0010) required.

Biosolids Application Technician
Temporary Position
$18.88 Hourly

Water Environment Services is currently recruiting on-call Biosolids Application Technicians for hauling and spreading biosolids.
Ideal candidates will have the following:
Class A CDL with tanker endorsement and clean driving record;
At least five years experience with tractor/trailer and/or tank trucks with four-wheel trailer;
Ability to work 6 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. shift, with occasional overtime.
Job entails operation of medium and heavy trucks, including tank trucks with four wheel trailer, hauling to eastern Oregon and local routes in Clackamas County; using GPS equipment; and maintaining daily records. Must be able to pass DOT physical and drug screen.

Recreation and Social Services Manager (Temporary Assignment)
$40.00 - $50.00 Hourly
Seeking an experienced manager to run the daily operations of the Milwaukie Center, a 20,000 square foot community center, operated by the North Clackamas Parks and Recreation District (NCPRD). NCPRD is governed by Clackamas County and serves a population of 114,000 citizens residing in the cities of Milwaukie and Happy Valley, and the surrounding urban unincorporated area. The Center provides recreation and social services to seniors and other community members. Temporary assignment for up to eight months with responsibility to manage staff, oversee programs, assess center operations and make recommendations to higher management for long term needs of NCPRD. A written report will be part of the work assignment, including a strategic plan and options for future operations. Looking for strong management and leadership skills, customer service focus, and team-building/mentoring of staff. Position requires experience in supervision, operational management, budgeting, grant management, research and writing, and oversight of fundraising efforts. Temporary assignment to begin in August or September and is not expected to go beyond eight months. Work schedule is primarily 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Monday – Friday, with some evening meetings and weekend events. Benefits are not provided.
