A significant element of being personally prepared for an emergency is getting trained in emergency skills. There are a number of training opportunities available to you.

Citizen Corps is a national program that encourages citizens to enhance homeland security and emergency preparedness BEFORE disaster strikes. For more information visit: www.citizencorps.gov

National and Oregon Voluntary Organizations Active in Disaster (VOAD) are programs that provide services to people after disaster strikes through communication, coordination and outreach. For more information visit: www.nvoad.org or www.orvoad.org
