Clackamas County Dog Services provides many services, including temporary care for lost dogs.  Our goal is to return lost dogs to their owners as soon as possible or, if that is not possible, to help the dog find a new family.  We do not have space or resources to hold dogs for unlimited periods of time, nor is that a good option for the dogs.  Therefore, the following County regulation applies to the owners of unclaimed dogs in our possession.

Clackamas County Dog Services has in its possession the below unclaimed dogs. If you have an ownership interest in the dog you must reclaim the dog within five days from the date of impound not including the day of impoundment, Sunday and federal holidays . If you fail to reclaim the dog you will lose your ownership interest.

(When you recover your lost pet, please notify Dog Services at 503-722-6519.)

As the animals in our care are stray or homeless, we know very little about their background or true temperament. The information provided is based on our observations of their behavior while in the shelter. We cannot assure you that a particular animal will always exhibit appropriate behaviors with children, other cats or other dogs, as these behaviors can evolve over time and are often not exhibited in a shelter environment.

We encourage you to research the breed of animal, in which you are interested, as every breed has certain characteristics and behaviors that should be acceptable and expected. Please be sure the breed in which you are interested, will fit in with your lifestyle and family.

NOTE ON CATS: Clackamas County Dog Services is partnering with Multnomah County Animal Services to save even more lives. Multnomah County Animal Services is often overflowing with stray cats. Our shelter is helping by providing a showcase for those cats to find homes. If you are considering a wonderful kitty addition, please come and take a look.

Although the listed animals were available when the page was last updated, some may no longer be available as they may have been claimed by their owner or adopted.
