Why I am interested in serving as an advisor:
I’m very excited about this new program and the opportunity to serve as an advisor. I firmly believe in helping people develop their careers and creating professional opportunities. I owe much of my professional accomplishments today to a former boss who saw leadership potential in me when I was 23; Linda remains a good friend to this day. I view the advisor role as one to help, encourage, challenge (and be challenged by) colleagues. I want to give back to others as Linda did for me.
My strengths in leadership are:
I believe in open, honest and constructive communication and listening to seek to understand all sides of an issue. I like bringing people together that can help each other and to that end I have experience and contacts within Clackamas County that I bring to the advisor role. To me, leadership encompasses the willingness and empowerment to take risks and learn from them.
