Get connected with the Clackamas County television programs addressing hunger in the county, living in abusive relationships and learning how to be small farmer.
The Clackamas County Government channel features a network of food banks keeping a growing number of individuals and families in our community from going hungry. This network is primarily staffed by volunteers and is supported by donations. Those in need can access emergency services by calling the social service hotline; 211. Individuals who can assist the food banks operation can sign up through the Volunteer Connection.
Domestic Violence is a pattern of ongoing abusive behavior through fear, force or intimidation. We talk to individuals who broke away from abusive relationships as they share their new lives. Clackamas County offers help and protection for individuals or families facing domestic volatile living situations. Contact the Women’s Empowerment Project 503-655-8776.
Agriculture is the backbone of the local economy and it is becoming common for homeowners living on several acres to convert the land to agriculture use as well. Whether it be for a small commercial operation or just for personal consumption it takes farming know-how and management skill. Learn about how Clackamas Community College, Clackamas County Soil and Water Conservation District and the OSU extension service help prepare the “newbie” farmers to join agricultural production.
