Government Affairs
The Government Affairs division serves as a liaison between Clackamas County and local, regional, state and federal government agencies to ensure that the needs of the County and its residents are reflected in major public policy discussions. Government Affairs staff work closely with elected representatives and key officials at all levels of government and serve on a wide range of intergovernmental committees to promote the County's interests and actively promote its perspective on various issues. Government Affairs also coordinates with internal County departments and the Board of County Commissioners to create and advance the County's state and federal legislative agendas.
Legislative Agendas – The Government Affairs division prepares the County’s annual state and federal legislative agendas, which outline the County’s policy and funding priorities in the U.S. Congress and the Oregon State Legislature. The agendas are developed through an inclusive process and are reviewed and approved by the Board of County Commissioners.
