Land Use Hearings Officer

The Land Use Hearings Officer is an impartial third party contracted by the County to hear quasi-judicial land use applications that require the judgment and discretion in applying the Clackamas County Code, Zoning & Development Ordinance, Clackamas County Comprehensive Plan, and other criteria under State law. The Hearings Officer may impose conditions of approval to varying degrees to land use applications in order for the application to comply with County and State regulations and to minimize impacts to surrounding properties. Hearings are held in the Development Services Building auditorium at 150 Beavercreek Road, Oregon City. For more information, contact Darcy Renhard at 503-742-4545.

The campground is used by the family 2-3 weekends a month during the summer and in the fall. The facility will include two open meadows, a cook shack (18ft. X 14.5ft.), two small cabins (10 ft. X 10 ft. each), toilet, six parking spaces, circulation system and relocated hiking trail. The Salmon River runs along the sites northern property line.     Floodplain Management District (Z0365-15-F) and River and Stream Conservation Area (Z0366-15-R) for the structures in the proposal are subject to ZDO 703 and 704. The two proposed sleeping cabins are located outside of the boundaries of the designated Flood Hazard Area and the 100 foot Principle River buffer of the Salmon River. The cook shack is currently within the Flood Hazard Area. Staff has confirmed with the applicant that it will be relocated outside of the regulatory Floodplain and will not require a Flood development permit. The proposal to relocate the pathway can be accommodated by ZDO 703 and 704.
