Heavy rains cause sewage overflow near Kellogg Lake

Heavy rains are causing a sewage overflow near the Miramonte Lodge Apartment complex located at 12200 SE McLoughlin Blvd in Milwaukie. The Oregon Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) has been notified and Clackamas County Service District No. 1 (CCSD #1) maintenance crews are on site.

Until the rain stops it is difficult to calculate how much volume has entered Kellogg Lake. As a precaution, signage has been placed near the Milwaukie boat launch and near Kellogg Lake. Residents near the spill should avoid contact with Kellogg Lake until the signage is removed.

CCSD #1 includes the cities of Happy Valley and Damascus and a major portion of urban unincorporated north Clackamas County. CCSD #1 also serves the City of Milwaukie as a wholesale customer through the Kellogg Creek plant.
