The Clackamas County Board of Commissioners is seeking nominations for the Dee Wescott Community Organization Award. The award honors citizens who give their time, energy and work to make positive contributions to their neighbors and community.
The award, announced by the county in September 2009, will recognize former Damascus Mayor Dee Wescott and his long commitment and connection to Clackamas County.
The recipients will be chosen based on the following criteria:
- Enrichment of the community and the county through volunteer efforts;
- Demonstrated leadership through involvement on board, commissioners, community planning organizations or other groups;
- Raise community and cultural awareness; and
- Exemplify positive, thoughtful and strong community spirit.
Submit a one-page written narrative describing why the nominee should receive Dee Wescott Award based on the above criteria. Include the nominee's name, email address and phone number along with your own contact information. Closing date for nominations is Thursday, March 22. Email or mail nominations to firstname.lastname@example.org or Citizen Involvement, 2051 Kaen Road, Oregon City, OR 97045.
The award will be presented at a Board of County Commissioners business meeting during National Volunteer Appreciation Week in April to an individual as a way to show support to volunteers and recognize the difference they make in the county and the community.
