Fares on the Canby Ferry will increase Wednesday, July 1, to help Clackamas County cover more of the costs of this popular 98-year-old service. The ferry, which crosses the Willamette River between Canby and Wilsonville, is one of only three remaining ferries that cross the river.
Results of a survey or riders and others conducted in February 2012 showed overwhelming supports for continuing to operate the ferry and for increased fees to reduce the difference between revenue from riders and the costs of operation. With 1,046 respondents more than 90 percent expressed support for increasing fees to keep the ferry running.
The new fares are $2 each for pedestrians, bicyclists and motorcycles, $4 for a vehicle up to 22 feet long, and $50 for a 20-crossing punch pass. The ferry operates from 6:45 a.m. to 9:15 p.m. seven days a week except on major holidays and when the water level rises to 70 feet or higher.
