Clackamas County Dog Services teams with Cat Adoption Team to help find homes for 1,000 cats by the end of 2012

Clackamas County Dog Services (CCDS) is always the place to go to find a wonderful dog to join your family, but on Oct. 20 it will also be a great place to pick out a new cat or kitten.

CCDS is supporting the efforts of Cat Adoption Team (CAT) to find new homes for 1,000 cats and kittens by the end of the year by opening its shelter to adoptable cats from CAT on Saturday, October 20.  Community members are invited to come to the Clackamas County Dog Shelter, from 11:30 am – 5 pm that day to find their “purrrr-fect” kitty and have a howling good time.  Dogs, of course, will also be available for viewing, meeting and adopting.

For the month of October, adoption fees have been cut in half to encourage even more people to check out the many adoptable dogs and cats who are looking for good homes:

  • $40 -- dogs six years and older
  • $60 -- dogs younger than six years
  • $25 -- cats 12 months and older
  • $50 -- kittens older than eight weeks and younger than 12 months

Clackamas County Dog Services is located at 13141 SE Highway 212, Clackamas.  Adoption viewing hours are 11:30 a.m. - 5 p.m., Tuesday through Saturday.  For more details about adoption, go to or call 503-722-6519.
