Volunteer open house set for Clackamas County Dog Services, Aug. 18

Would you like to spend more time with friendly, four-legged animals that need your love and attention? Do you want to help homeless dogs find a new forever family.

If so, you're invited to the Clackamas County Animal Adoption and Education Center Volunteer Open House Orientation on Sunday, August 18, from noon to 3 p.m. People interested in volunteering will have a great opportunity to gather information about all Dog Services does to help the community, tour the Animal Adoption and Education Center, and learn about available volunteer opportunities.

The open house will be held at Dog Services at 13141 SE Highway 212 in Clackamas.

Tours will be offered from noon to 1 p.m., followed by a program overview and a question/answer session with staff and current volunteers. Volunteers must be 18 years old or older, except for youth who volunteer with their parents or youth who want to do community-based projects in support of the Center.

Members of the public interested in adopting a dog are welcome to stop by the Animal Adoption and Education Center Tuesday through Saturday from 11:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Dogs available for adoption can also be seen online at or on the County Government Cable Channel.
