Canby Ferry back in service Friday, July 19 at 6:45 a.m.

The Canby Ferry, which has been out of service for  major maintenance since January, will be back to service on schedule beginning at 6:45 a.m., Friday, July 19.

The Ferry had major repairs/retrofitting work done in dry dock in Portland over the past six months to reduce electricity usage, eliminate the potential of an environmentally-damaging oil spill, and ensure continued safe and reliable transportation.  The repairs were paid by a $1.4 million grant from the U.S. Department of Transportation.

Beginning this Friday, the Canby Ferry will once again cross the Willamette River between Canby and Wilsonville seven days a week except on major holidays and when the water level rises to 70 feet or higher.  The crossing fare is $4 for cars and pick-up trucks, $8 for vehicles with trailers, and $2 for motorcycles, bicycles and pedestrians.
