Get involved with healthcare at the local level: County Health Council in search of patient representation on board
Clackamas County Commissioners are seeking volunteers to serve on thecounty's Community Health Council. Membership requirements are guided bycouncil bylaws and federal regulations. At this time, representation isneeded from patients served by Clackamas County Community Health's primary careor behavioral health clinics. Parents and guardians of patients arealso eligible for membership.
The council and the Board of County Commissioners are responsible foroversight of a federally funded grantthat provides primary care,dental and behavioral health services to residents of the county. Council duties include workingclosely with staff to review and recommend service priorities for patients,determining program policies and providing fiscal oversight.
In order to achieve abalance and countywide representation on the council, applicants from variousgeographic areas in the county and various ethnic groups are encouraged toapply. The council meets monthly from 6:30 to 8 p.m. on the fourth Wednesday ofthe month. Interested individuals who meet the criteria outlined above areasked to complete an application form.
