North Clackamas Parks and Recreation District recruits for board volunteer

Citizens interested in serving on the North Clackamas Parks and Recreation District (NCPRD) Advisory Board are encouraged to apply for one open position on the board. The vacancy is for a district resident who lives west of I-205.

Clackamas County Board of Commissioners who serve as the board of NCPRD will give final approval to the District Advisory Board (DAB) appointments.

The DAB makes recommendations to the NCPRD board regarding NCPRD’s master plan, strategic plan, and capital improvement plan as well as advising district staff on programs and services offered by the district.

The DAB meets the second Wednesday of each month at 4 p.m. at the North Clackamas Aquatic Park. Meeting locations and times may change on occasion with consensus of the DAB to accommodate district residents’ needs.

Desired skills include an ability to think globally and to be a part of public process, a capacity to problem-solve and to work constructively within a group setting. The parks district stretches from the Multnomah County line on the north to the Willamette River on the west, the Clackamas River on the south and to the eastern Happy Valley border. DAB members are to serve the broad interests and all areas of the district for the benefit of the entire district.
