Get involved with the Clackamas County Budget Committee
The Clackamas County Commissioners are seeking volunteers toserve as citizen members on the Clackamas County Budget Committee. Thiscommittee works with the annual budget for the primary Clackamas Countygovernment. Citizen members serve three-year terms.
Applicants for theposition must be residents of Clackamas County and must be available to attend aseries of public meetings in May to review and approve a budget for theupcoming fiscal year. The county operates on a July 1 to June 30 fiscal year. Thecommittee also meets quarterly to review and discuss budget-related matters.The 2013-14 budget totaled more than $600 million.
In order to have balance and diversity of membership representation interms of geographic area, gender and experience, commissioners are seekingcitizen volunteers from all backgrounds and areas of Clackamas County.
The commissioners approve the selection of 52 advisory boards andcommittees to advise them in a variety of capacities and to oversee a number oftasks and interests in Clackamas County.
Interested individuals need to complete an application form. Applicationsare available and may be completed and submitted online via the county’swebsite, http://www.clackamas.us/miscapp/application.jsp.Application forms can also be obtained from the Public andGovernment Affairs office at 503-742-4353.
The application deadline is Tuesday, Oct. 1.
