Barbara Cartmill appointed as director of Clackamas County Department of Transportation and Development
Barbara Cartmill has been appointed director of the Clackamas County Department of Transportation and Development, it was announced Monday. Cartmill was named to the position following a nationwide recruitment. She had been serving as acting director since last May.
“I am impressed with her depth of knowledge, her strong leadership, her commitment to customer service and her laser focus on the mission and objectives of her department and the county,’’ said County Administrator Donald Krupp.
Cartmill has been a county employee since 1997 when she started as a land-use planner. She rose through the ranks to become Deputy Director from 2009-2013 before serving as acting director.
She has a master’s degree in urban and regional planning from Portland State University and an undergraduate degree in economics from PSU.
