Clackamas County to begin budget deliberations May 27 through June 2

The Clackamas County Budget Committee will begin a series of public meetings on the 2014-15 fiscal year budget starting Tuesday, May 27. County Administrator Donald Krupp will deliver a budget message, followed by presentations from various county departments that will continue over several days.

The budget presentations are open to the public and will be held in the Development Services Building auditorium, 150 Beavercreek Road, Oregon City beginning at 8:30 a.m. Public testimony is not accepted at these hearings. A public hearing, where members of the public can provide testimony, is scheduled for Thursday, May 29 at 5:30 p.m.

From May 27 through 29, the Budget Committee will hear presentations from county agencies.

Budget hearings for Clackamas County agencies including the Extension and 4-H Service, Street Lighting District #5, Library Service District, North Clackamas Parks and Recreation District, Development Agency and Enhanced Law Enforcement District, Surface Water Management Agency, Clackamas County Water District #1 and Tri-Cities Sewer District, will be held Monday, June 2 starting at 8:30 a.m.

The proposed annual all-funds budget for Clackamas County is $817,653,339. The County's proposed budget is $604,736,434.

The budget committee is a 10-member panel comprised of the five Clackamas County Commissioners and five appointed citizens. The Committee will consider the presentations and approve a final budget that is then formally adopted by County Commissioners.
