Clackamas County Planning Commission seeks new member

Clackamas County is looking for people interested in serving on the County Planning Commission. There is one vacancy that needs to be filled in summer 2014.

The nine-member commission, made up of volunteer citizens, reviews and advises the Board of County Commissioners on quasi-judicial and legislative land use issues. Planning Commission members, who are appointed to four-year terms by the Board of County Commissioners, are selected on the basis of their expertise, experience and/or education related to land use issues, and to represent different geographic areas of the County.

The Planning Commission conducts business through public hearings and work sessions scheduled at 6:30 p.m. on the second and fourth Monday of each month. Meetings are held in the County’s Development Services Building in Oregon City. The Commission’s decisions and recommendations are made based on the requirements set forth in state law, the County Comprehensive Plan and County ordinances.
