Area residents invited to Oct. 2 open house on Tolbert Street bridge project

The public is invited to learn more about the new Tolbert Street bridge from SE 82nd Drive to Minuteman Way at an open house set for Thursday, Oct. 2. People are invited to stop by any time between 5-7 p.m. at Denny's, 15815 SE 82nd Dr., Clackamas.

Clackamas County is planning construction of the Tolbert Street bridge over the Union Pacific Railroad tracks and related projects to improve traffic safety and access in the area. The bridge will replace the current at-grade crossing at Lawnfield Road.

Construction is scheduled to take place between summer 2015 and fall 2016. In addition to the railroad crossing bridge, the project will include:
  • Reconstruction of SE 93rd Avenue, SE 94th Avenue and Church Street in the project area;
  • Traffic signal at the intersection of Tolbert Street and 82nd Drive, and
  • New intersection at the Camp Withycombe main gate and Minuteman Way

This project is a part of the Sunrise Jobs and Transportation Act (JTA) family of projects, approved by the Oregon Legislature in 2009 to reduce congestion and enhance economic opportunities in Clackamas County with improvements related to the Sunrise Corridor.

Updates are on the project website at http://www.clackamas.us/engineering/tolbertbridge.html
