Clackamas County Commissioners sign emergency order to deal with Estacada Wildfire

Clackamas County Commissioners on Tuesday approved an emergency order allowing the county to seek state assistance for response to the 36 Pit Fire near Estacada.

The order allows formation of a local “incident command” to provide support and response to the affected area and residents.

The wildfire has been burning since Saturday afternoon and has prompted several local evacuations.

The emergency declaration allows for steps to be taken if necessary:
  • Closing or barricading streets or roads and limiting traffic
  • Evacuation of people from the affected area
  • Implementation of mutual aid agreements
  • Expenditure of funds to respond to the emergency
