Clackamas County animal code changes, increased dog license fee are effective Oct. 29

Dog owners in Clackamas County will be subject to new county codes and a higher dog license fee beginning Oct. 29. The code changes comply with new state laws; revenue from the increased dog license fee will fund a new program to respond to complaints about barking dogs.

Code Amendments: Amendments to the Clackamas County Animal Code that go into effect Oct. 29 will impact many people who live in the county and own one or more dogs. The changes are in a number of areas related to dogs and other animals, including the following: Other code amendments effective Oct. 29 include: Dog License Fee: The cost of a dog license is increasing by $6 per year as of Oct. 29.
