Mt. Hood Express, Sandy buses introduce $5 all-day pass

Officials from Clackamas County and the City of Sandy are proud to announce the new $5 all-day bus pass, good on any Mt. Hood Express and Sandy Area Metro (SAM) buses. Tickets are now available for purchase on board all buses.

"The $5 all-day pass is an exciting service to offer our passengers," said Jacques Livingston, who helps coordinate the Mt. Hood Express program for Clackamas County." It gives riders that flexibility to use public transit for errands, appointments, or a trip to Mount Hood’s recreational opportunities."

SAM and the Mt. Hood Express connect Gresham, Sandy, Estacada, the Villages at Mount Hood, Government Camp and Timberline with an all-day pass that provides unlimited trips. Riders from the Portland-metro area can connect to SAM at the Gresham Transit Center and then transfer at the Sandy Transit Center to the Mt. Hood Express for additional destinations on Mount Hood.

“We had seven young adults from Vietnam at the Sandy Transit Center for our 15th anniversary celebration that had come in from Gresham on SAM and were waiting for the Mt. Hood Express to get to the snow,” said Julie Stephens, Transit Manager for the City of Sandy.

The new all-day pass will improve access to the beautiful resources in the Mount Hood region as well as providing safe and reliable public transportation from the Portland-metro area to Sandy and beyond. Schedule and ticket information can be found online at MtHoodExpress.com or ci.Sandy.or.us/transit.
