Volunteers needed for solid waste, CCSD#5 budget commissions

Clackamas County Commissioners are seeking citizen volunteers to fill new vacancies on two different county Advisory Boards and Commissions (ABCs).

First, two volunteers are needed to serve on the Clackamas County Service District No. 5 Budget Committee. The purpose of the committee is to review and ensure timely and cost-effective street lighting operation, maintenance and installation for property owners within the lighting district. More on the district can be found at

A term on the committee lasts for three years. The committee meets twice a year from May to June in the county Development Services Building in Oregon City.

Experience and participation in an advisory committee is helpful as a base of knowledge for committee work, but not necessary. Interested individuals need to complete an application form and will be invited to interview with the staff liaison. The application deadline is Tuesday, April 7. For more information, please contact Wendi Coryell at 503-742-4657 or at

Second, commissioners seek one citizen volunteer to serve on the Solid Waste Commission. Members make recommendations to commissioners after reviewing rate changes, monitoring franchise agreements, and reviewing changes in legislation affecting solid waste management and recycling.

Members serve a four-year term. The application deadline is Friday, March 27. For more information, please contact Rick Winterhalter at 503-742-4466 or at

Applicants for either position can fill out the corresponding online form at or a paper form that can be obtained from the Public and Government Affairs department by calling 503-655-8751 or in person at the Public Services Building at 2051 Kaen Road in Oregon City.
