Clackamas County announces hiring of new director of Department of Employee Services

Evelyn Minor-Lawrence has been hired as Clackamas County’s Director of the Department of Employment Services, it was announced Thursday.

Minor-Lawrence served as Director of Labor Relations for TriMet since December 2003 and prior to that was Human Resources Manager for the Multnomah County Department of Business & Community Services and a Senior Human Resources Consultant for the City of Beaverton.

She will succeed director Nancy Drury, who is retiring June 30. Drury has held the position for 16 years.

“Nancy has left a lasting legacy and has a strong leadership team in place,” said Minor-Lawrence. “I’m excited to be joining Clackamas County and to continue the outstanding work that is being done to make it an employer of choice in the region.”

“We are thrilled to have selected Evelyn from an extremely competitive field of candidates,” said County Administrator Donald Krupp. “She has extensive experience in human resources management and I’m confident she will do an outstanding job serving Clackamas County in this important position.”

Minor-Lawrence will begin her new role Monday, Aug. 3.
