Open fires prohibited at Clackamas County parks

All Clackamas County parks and forestland properties, along with state parks and federal Bureau of Land Management campgrounds contained within Clackamas County, now must operate under heightened fire restrictions. The Oregon Department of Forestry (ODOF) has mandated these restrictions within its North Cascade District.

Unusually dry and hot weather this year has led to a greater risk of fire for the area. The following fire restrictions and related actions are in effect until further notice:

These are just some of the restrictions that were put into place Tuesday. See a complete list of prohibited actions. Clackamas County was notified Tuesday that these restrictions are now mandatory. Previously, enforcement in the parks was at the county’s discretion as a regulated public facility.

Additional restrictions for public use areas can be found in the ODOF proclamation that went into effect early Tuesday morning.

More ODOF information can be found online.
