Catch the Orange Line Sept. 12 at the Park Avenue Station in Oak Grove

Catch the new MAX Orange Line on Saturday, Sept. 12! Clackamas County is sponsoring the grand opening of the Park Avenue Station at the corner of Park and McLoughlin Boulevard/Highway 99E in Oak Grove.

The first Orange Line trains open to the public are expected to start running at about 11 a.m. on Saturday and there will be fun activities for people of all ages to enjoy at the station from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.

And that’s not all – lots of booths will showcase services and programs Clackamas County offers for residents and visitors. Come learn how to make green cleaning supplies, win gift certificates to the Aquatic Center, find out about safer travel options for you (and your pets) and have your picture taken with Bigfoot!

There will be food vendors selling burgers, brats, grilled chicken, yakisoba noodles, delicious desserts and more! Those 21 and older will be able to sample local wines when they visit the Mt. Hood Territory wine garden.

Members of the Wanderlust Circus will also perform throughout the day!

The Orange Line route runs from Milwaukie to downtown Portland near Portland State University. Many other stations along the Orange Line will also have fun things to do and experience.

Rides on all MAX trains, TriMet buses, the Portland Streetcar and the Aerial Tram will be free on Sept. 12. Come out and celebrate!
