Public invited to testify on draft marijuana land use regulations at Oct. 26 Planning Commission hearing

The Clackamas County Planning Commission is holding a public hearing on proposed regulations for marijuana-related land use issues at 6 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 26, at the Abernethy Center, 606 15th St. in Oregon City.

The public hearing agenda, including draft regulations and background information, is available online. Additional information about the regulation process is also available online.

All interested people are welcome to testify, and everyone who signs up to testify on Oct. 26 will have the chance to testify. The following arrangements have been made to ensure that everyone who wants to testify before the Planning Commission has the opportunity to do so:

At the end of the public hearing (on either Oct. 26 or Nov. 2), the Planning Commission will deliberate and forward recommendations to the Board of County Commissioners (BCC).

The BCC will hold a public hearing on the draft regulations at 9:30 a.m. on Nov. 23, in the Board Hearing Room on the fourth floor of the Public Services Building, 2051 Kaen Road in Oregon City.

New county regulations are expected to be in place by the end of 2015, as the state is required to begin receiving marijuana business licensing applications on Jan. 4, 2016.
