Public invited to testify on draft marijuana land use regulations at Nov. 23 County Commission hearing

The Clackamas County Board of County Commissioners (BCC) is holding a public hearing on proposed regulations for marijuana-related land use issues at 9:30 a.m. on Monday, Nov. 23, in the fourth floor hearing room of the Public Services Building at 2051 Kaen Road in Oregon City.

An overview of the proposed regulations is available online. These draft regulations are recommended to the BCC by the Clackamas County Planning Commission, which held public hearings on marijuana-related land use issues in October and November.

The BCC public hearing agenda with draft regulations and background information is available online, as is additional information about the regulation process

All interested people are welcome to testify, and everyone who wishes to testify must sign up to do so by 11 a.m. on Nov. 23 (all those who do will be given the opportunity to testify). The following arrangements have been made to ensure that everyone who wants to testify before the BCC has the opportunity to do so:

The public hearing will be continued at 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 2, in the same location, for BCC deliberation and decision only. New county regulations are expected to be in place by the end of 2015, as the state is required to begin receiving marijuana business applications on Jan. 4, 2016.
