Public invited to comment on draft revisions to marijuana land use regulations at Feb. 13 Planning Commission hearing

The public is invited to comment on draft amendments to Clackamas County’s marijuana land use regulations at two public hearings in the coming weeks:

County regulations on marijuana land uses have been in effect since Jan. 4, 2016, when recreational marijuana became legal in Oregon. After a year of applying the regulations, the county is proposing four narrowly defined sets of amendments:

  1. Adding fence design standards;
  2. Allowing the processing of marijuana concentrates and extracts in the exclusive farm use (EFU) and agriculture/forest (AG/F) zones, subject to certain standards;
  3. Amending regulations as needed to conform to changes in state law and regulations; and
  4. Making minor edits to increase the clarity of the current regulations.

Read a notice with a summary of the amendments. The full text of the draft amendments, known as ZDO-263, are also available as follows:

The Planning Commission will hold a study session on the proposed amendments at 6:30 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 23, in the Development Services Building auditorium. The public is welcome to attend to observe, but will not be given an opportunity to testify.

Comments related to the proposed amendments may be submitted to the county in several ways:
