New openings on ABCs: Fair Board
Clackamas County Commissioners are seeking interested residents to serve on county Advisory Boards and Commissions (ABCs). These ABCs offer residents the opportunity to become very involved in specific activities and the goals of Clackamas County.
New ABC openings from the past week include:
- Fair Board: This board has up to five open positions. Four of these positions have three-year terms, while the other fills a vacated position for one year. Members serve in an advisory capacity to county commissioners while acting as the policy-making body of the Clackamas County Fair and Event Center.
The board has the exclusive management of the ground and all other property owned, leased, used or controlled by the county and devoted to the use of the County Fair. The board is entrusted and charged with the business management and financial responsibilities of the center, and has the authority to provide facilities for public and private gatherings throughout the year. Members generally meet at 6 p.m. on the second Thursday of the month at the center (in Canby). The deadline for applications is Feb. 16. For more information, contact Event Center Executive Director Laurie Bothwell at 503-266-1136.
Individuals interested in these opportunities can apply online or via a paper form that can be obtained from the Public & Government Affairs Department by calling 503-655-8751 or in person at the Public Services Building at 2051 Kaen Road in Oregon City, or at the center.
