Open Houses: Disaster preparedness on the Clackamas River

Do you live, work or play on or near the Clackamas River? Have you ever worried about what would happen if the river severely floods from a weather-related event, or because of an earthquake-related dam issue?

The Clackamas County Disaster Management Department has teamed up with Portland General Electric (PGE) and other partner agencies to plan for such an event. As part of this process, the public is invited to attend open houses that explain what would be done if such an event occurs.

Open house attendees can expect to learn:

PGE owns and operates multiple Clackamas River dams, which generate power and provide for a variety of recreational activities. Partner agencies sponsoring the event include the cities of Estacada and Oregon City, Clackamas Fire District No. 1, and Estacada Rural Fire District No. 69.
