Social worker to receive Dee Lewitz Community Commitment Award on March 2

At the weekly business meeting of the Board of County Commissioners on Thursday, March 2, District Attorney John Foote will present Rowe Middle School Social Worker Evan King with the 2016 Dee Lewitz Community Commitment Award.

The award recognizes a community member who has demonstrated outstanding and sustained commitment to making the county stronger and safer by improving quality of life.

King was selected for her critical roles at the school involving:

This biennial award was given for the first time in 2015 to Dee Lewitz for her efforts as part of the Overland Park Coalition against Drug Crime. Ms. Lewitz died shortly thereafter.

The weekly business meeting is held in the Board Hearing Room, fourth floor, 2051 Kaen Road in Oregon City. The meeting starts at 10 a.m., and the presentation is the first item on the agenda.
