Public invited to celebrate new McLoughlin Boulevard street lights at May 10 ceremony

Clackamas County Commissioners will join area residents and business people this coming Wednesday, May 10, at a celebration of the new street lights being installed on McLoughlin Boulevard.

The public is welcome to attend the celebration at 1 p.m. on May 10, on McLoughlin Boulevard in front of the Elks Lodge, just south of Park Avenue. Parking will be available behind MS Glass Outlet at 13123 SE McLoughlin Blvd. and refreshments will be available.

Portland General Electric (PGA) began installing street lights on May 5 along the 3.4-mile stretch of McLoughlin Boulevard in unincorporated Clackamas County between the cities of Milwaukie and Gladstone. Work began on the west side of the street and will begin this fall on the east side of the street.

The new lights are the result of a hard-working partnership between the McLoughlin Area Business Alliance (MABA), the community-run McLoughlin Area Plan Implementation Team (MAP-IT), Clackam as County Service District #5, the Oregon Department of Transportation, and PGE.

More information is available on the project’s webpage or by contacting CCSD #5 Service Representative Wendi Coryell at 503-742-4657.
