Board of County Commissioners approves reading of urban/rural reserves findings; public hearing planned for May 23

The Board of County Commissioners approved on May 11 a reading of an ordinance to adopt findings that affirm the designation of urban and rural reserves in the metro region.

That action was taken immediately after the board approved the substance of the May 10 version of an intergovernmental agreement (IGA) between the county, Metro and the cities of West Linn, Tualatin and Lake Oswego on potential future urbanization of the Stafford area in unincorporated Clackamas County.

The commissioners are scheduled to take final action on the IGA and the ordinance at a special business meeting planned for 8:30 a.m. on Tuesday, May 23. The meeting will include a hearing on the ordinance; the public will be welcome to comment.

The meeting will be held in the Board Hearing Room on the fourth floor of the Public Services Building at 2051 Kaen Road in Oregon City.

The action is being taken in response to a remand from the Oregon Court of Appeals and the Oregon Department of Land Conservation and Development.

The most current versions of the IGA, ordinance and related material are available online
