Clackamas County Planning Commission public hearing on code amendments to allow transitional shelter communities set for tonight, July 10

WHAT:  Planning Commission public hearing on proposed legislative text amendments to the Clackamas County Comprehensive Plan, and Zoning & Development Ordinance, related to allowing transitional shelter communities on light industrial, general industrial and business park-zoned land in unincorporated Clackamas County with a conditional use permit. 

WHEN:  Monday, July 10, in Room 115, Development Services Bldg., 150 Beavercreek Rd., Oregon City. The meeting begins at 6:30 p.m. This public hearing is second on the agenda.

WHY:  The Planning Commission will listen to public testimony about whether to recommend allowing transitional shelter communities on light and general industrial lands in unincorporated areas with a conditional use permit.  This hearing is not about any specific project, current or projected.

NEXT STEPS: 

  1. At the end of the hearing, the Planning Commission may take one of three actions:
    • Recommend the Board of Commissioners adopt the proposed amendments;
    • Recommend the Board of Commissioners not adopt the proposed amendments, or
    • Recommend the Board of Commissioners adopt the proposed amendments with revisions.
  2. The Board of County Commissioners is scheduled to hold a land use hearing on the proposed amendments Wednesday, August 2, at 9:30 a.m., and to take final action to approve, not approve or approve revised amendments at the end of that hearing.
