Clackamas County Planning Commission to discuss proposed code changes related to transitional shelter communities July 24

The Clackamas County Planning Commission will meet at 6:30 p.m. on Monday, July 24, to complete its public hearing on proposed zoning amendments to allow transitional shelter communities on light or general industrial land outside city limits with a conditional use permit.

The public testimony portion of the public hearing was held July 10 when 17 people testified for and against the proposed amendments. On July 24, the Planning Commission will deliberate and decide whether to recommend the proposed amendments to the Board of County Commissioners.

The July 24 meeting will be in the auditorium of the Development Services Building, 150 Beavercreek Road in Oregon City. The public is welcome to attend, but no public testimony will be taken.  

The Board of County Commissioners will hold its public hearing on the proposed amendments on Wednesday, Aug. 2, beginning no earlier than 10:30 a.m., in the Board Hearing Room of the Public Services Building, 2051 Kaen Road in Oregon City. The board will consider the recommendation of the Planning Commission, along with additional public testimony and the staff recommendation, to determine whether to approve the proposed amendments.
