Clackamas, Multnomah county commissioners to select House District 38 replacement

Following the resignation of Representative Ann Lininger yesterday from the Oregon House of Representatives, Clackamas County and Multnomah County commissioners will hold a joint session on Wednesday, Sept. 13, to interview candidates and select a replacement for the open position.

Oregon law requires that a legislative vacancy be filled by county commissioners representing the district in which the vacancy exists. House District 38 includes voters in Clackamas and Multnomah counties.

Finalists were selected by the state Democratic Party (as deemed by state law), since Lininger belongs to that party. The four finalists are:

The person selected will fill the reminder of Lininger’s term, which runs through 2018.

The meeting will be held at 2:30 p.m. at the Lake Oswego Parks & Recreation Building, 1500 Greentree Road (the former Palisades Elementary School) in Lake Oswego. Members of the public are welcome to attend.

The meeting will be videotaped for broadcast on Clackamas County’s YouTube Channel and broadcast on the Clackamas County Government Channel.
