County to continue nighttime road striping Sept. 5-8

In recent weeks, Clackamas County Transportation Maintenance staff have piloted striping roads at night to avoid disrupting increasingly heavy volumes of traffic during the day.

The program has been so successful that road workers plan to stripe nine road segments at night from Tuesday, Sept. 5 through Friday, Sept. 8. Workers will be on the job from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. at the following locations, though not at every location every night:

Areas of fresh striping will be coned off to keep traffic away, but no significant traffic delays are expected.

The work is being done at night to avoid disrupting the increasingly heavy volumes of traffic on these roadways during the day. Striping plays a crucial role in traffic safety by guiding motorists and other travelers on the roadway.
