Clackamas, Multnomah, and Hood River county commissioners to select House District 52 replacement

Following the resignation of Representative Mark Johnson last week from the Oregon House of Representatives, Clackamas, Hood River and Multnomah county commissioners will hold a joint session on Wednesday, Nov. 29 to interview candidates and select a replacement for the open position.

Oregon law requires that a legislative vacancy be filled by county commissioners representing the district in which the vacancy exists. House District 52 includes voters in Clackamas, Hood River and Multnomah counties.

Finalists will be selected by the state Republican Party (as deemed by state law), since Johnson belongs to that party.

The meeting will be held at 4:00 p.m. at Sandy High School in their lecture hall, 37400 Bell St in Sandy. Members of the public are welcome to attend.

The meeting will be videotaped for broadcast on Clackamas County’s YouTube Channel and broadcast on the Clackamas County Government Channel.

For more information, members of the media may contact Public Affairs Manager Tim Heider at or 503-742-5911.
