Public comments being taken on House District 52 replacement

Following the resignation of Representative Mark Johnson from the Oregon House of Representatives, Clackamas, Hood River, and Multnomah county commissioners will hold a joint session on Wednesday, Nov. 29 to interview candidates and select a replacement for the open position. Clackamas County is accepting public comments regarding the appointment – both electronically and via snail mail – until noon on Tuesday, Nov. 28. The comments will become part of the official record.

Finalists were selected by the state Republican Party (as deemed by state law), since Johnson belongs to that party. The three nominees are:

To submit comments to be considered by commissioners, the public should send them to Clackamas County’s Kevin Moss, either at kmoss@clackamas.us or Suite 450, Public Services Building, 2051 Kaen Road, Oregon City, Oregon, 97045.

The meeting will be held at 4 p.m. at Sandy High School in its lecture hall, 37400 Bell St. in Sandy. Members of the public are welcome to attend.
