Sheriff's Office responds after telephone argument ends in alleged assault at victim's home

At about 4:20 a.m. on Saturday morning (Feb. 11, 2012), an assault occurred at 10603 SE 75th Ave. in Milwaukie, Oregon. During the struggle, a pistol was discharged once. No one was struck or injured by the round. The suspect in the assault left the scene.
The two males involved in the alleged assault knew each other. These two adult males had reportedly been arguing and threatening each other over the telephone throughout the evening and night. Just before 4:20 a.m. on Feb. 11, the suspect reportedly traveled to 10603 SE 75th Avenue in Milwaukie to confront the victim in person at his home.
The suspect forced open the door to the residence and assaulted the victim. During the struggle, the victim reportedly drew and fired a handgun. A single shot was fired. No one was struck.
The suspect left the scene. Clackamas County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded and searched the area with a police K-9. The suspect was not immediately located, and may have left in a vehicle.
The victim suffered only minor injuries and was treated at the scene.
The suspect has been identified.
No further details will be released at this time. This investigation is ongoing.
