Employee arrested on Unlawful Use of Weapon, Menacing charges
Earlier today (Thursday, April 25, 2013), Clackamas County Sheriff’s Office Corrections Deputy Shawn Heikkila was arrested on two criminal counts related to an incident of domestic violence: Unlawful Use of a Weapon and Menacing. He was booked into the Clackamas County Jail. A booking photo of Heikkila is linked above.
Heikkila was hired by the Sheriff’s Office in 2008. An allegation of domestic violence was initially made against him in November 2012. He was immediately placed on administrative leave from the Sheriff’s Office while the Clackamas County Sheriff's Office Professional Standards Unit conducted a thorough investigation, in cooperation with the Clackamas County District Attorney’s Office.
The Clackamas County Sheriff’s Office maintains a zero-tolerance policy with regard to employee-involved domestic violence. Sheriff Craig Roberts expressed his deep disappointment with Heikkila’s alleged conduct and offered his thanks to investigators for their diligent pursuit of this case, which culminated in Heikkila’s arrest.
As this is an ongoing criminal case, the Sheriff’s Office will have no further comment at this time.
