Sheriff's Office investigating homicide in unincorporated Milwaukie
Clackamas County Sheriff's Office deputies responded to the report of a disturbance near the 8000 block of Glencoe Road in unincorporated Milwaukie. Deputies arrived to find one man dead and another man injured.
On Thursday, Aug. 1 at about 12:30 a.m., deputies responded to multiple 911 calls reporting a disturbance near the 8000 block of Glencoe Road in unincorporated Milwaukie.
Upon arrival, deputies found one man lying in the road. He was pronounced dead at the scene. He has been identified as Randy Basso, age 47, from Milwaukie.
The State Medical Examiner's Office is investigating the cause and manner of death, and an autopsy is scheduled for later in the day (Thursday, Aug. 1).
Another man involved in the disturbance was also still on scene and had been wounded. He has been identified as Peter Altman, age 36, from Milwaukie. He was transported to OHSU by ground ambulance and is in stable condition.
Mr. Altman is being interviewed by Sheriff's Office detectives.
Initial reports indicate knives were involved and the subjects knew each other.
The investigation is ongoing. All involved parties are accounted for, and there is no danger to the public.
