GOOD NEWS: The goat Harry Truman was returned this afternoon. Owner found him screaming inside barn. Lola was ecstatic. Thanks to all.

EARLIER (May 23, 2015, 4:39 p.m.)

Harry Truman, the goatShortly after 12 noon on Saturday, May 23, 2015, a 5-day-old baby male goat was stolen from a property on S. Holly Ln. in unincorporated Oregon City.

Clackamas County Sheriff's Office deputies learned the baby goat was with his mother in a front pasture while the homeowner was inside for a short period of time. When the homeowner returned to the pasture, she discovered the baby goat missing and its mother desperately pacing the fence line.

The baby goat was named Harry Truman, after the late owner of the Mount St. Helens Lodge at Spirit Lake.

Neighbors assisted with searching for Harry Truman on and around the property.

Harry Truman's mother, Lola, is currently being supported by her favorite horse while she awaits her son's return.

A picture of Harry Truman is linked above. Lola is a pygmy-angora mix goat and the father was a pygmy goat. The homeowner is willing to speak with interested media and her information can be obtained by paging the Sheriff's Office PIO.
