Lee Davenport Jr., age 58, of Eugene
At about 2:17 a.m. on Monday, June 15, 2015, Clackamas County Sheriff's Office Patrol deputies responded to a report of an armed robbery at the Denny's located at 15815 SE 82nd Drive in Clackamas. The suspect was described as leaving from the robbery in a small black-colored car.
A responding deputy saw a car matching the description of the suspect vehicle driving nearby. When the deputy turned to follow the vehicle, the suspect drove through a red light.
The deputy stopped the car -- and a subsequent search of the suspect vehicle led to the discovery of the handgun allegedly used to commit the robbery and the cash taken in the robbery.
The victim employee in the robbery was the server who had attended to the suspect while he ate. The server described that the suspect had come into the restaurant and ordered food -- specifically the "Lumberjack Slam," comprising eggs, hashbrowns, pancakes, bacon, sausage, and toast. The suspect was served -- and afterward took the employee to the cash register at gunpoint and emptied the cash register.
The suspect taken into custody is Robert Lee Davenport Jr., age 58, a resident of Eugene. Mr. Davenport was lodged at the Clackamas County Jail on a charge of Robbery in the First Degree. His bail was set at $250,000.
