UPDATED: Sheriff's Office responds to fatal motorcycle crash on Springwater Rd.; deceased rider identified

UPDATE (11:46 a.m., April 11)

Springwater Road is now re-opened. Please drive carefully.


 EARLIER (Monday, April 11, 2016, 11:39 a.m.)

The Clackamas County Sheriff's Office and Medical Examiner's Office are responding to a fatal single-vehicle motorcycle accident on the 16000 block of Springwater Rd.

The deceased rider -- identified as Floyd L. Miles, 39, of Estacada -- had been missing since last night. His motorcycle and body were found this morning by friends and family.

Family notifications have been completed.

The Clackamas County Criminal Reconstruction and Forensic Team (CRAFT) is responding with a FARO scanner to reconstruct the crash scene. At this writing it appears that the motorcycle went off the roadway.

Springwater Road is currently closed at the 16000 block. We will post an update when the road has been re-opened.
