At approximately 2:26 p.m.
on Tuesday, Aug. 16, deputies contracted to the Wilsonville
Police Department responded to a daytime burglary in an occupied
dwelling on Wimbledon Circle in Wilsonville.
A 12 year old boy was reportedly home alone when an unknown person
entered the home.
Startled, the boy called his mother -- who called 911.
As deputies arrived to investigate, a neighbor observed the police
activity -- and also noticed that a door-to-door solicitor, who had
just been at his house, was now hiding behind a bush in his yard.
Seeing this as suspicious and possibly related, the neighbor
immediately reported the hiding solicitor to deputies.
Deputies then searched for the subject -- and found her walking from
the neighbor's house. Ultimately the solicitor confessed to the
burglary. She reportedly told deputies she sells magazine subscriptions
door-to-door and is part of a crew currently staying at a motel in
Wilsonville.
The burglary suspect's name is Emely
Mercedes Fernandez, 18. She is lodged at Clackamas County Jail
on three counts of first-degree Burglary. Her
complete booking info is here. Bail is set at $100,000. A booking

SECOND BURGLARY CONFESSION
Last night (Tuesday, Aug. 16) Wilsonville PD received another call
from a resident stating they believed their house had also been
burglarized during the day while her graveyard working son was home
sleeping. This second burglarized home was in the same neighborhood, on
Tournament Court -- a half-dozen or so houses away.
Deputy Woodward responded to the jail and interviewed suspect Emely
Fernandez -- who reportedly confessed to this second burglary as well.
Suspect Emely Fernandez will be arraigned this afternoon in Clackamas
County Circuit Court.
