UPDATED: Happy Valley PD, Sheriff's Office make arrest in New Hope Church parking-lot shooting

UPDATE (August 25, 2016 3:52 p.m.) -- HAPPY VALLEY SHOOTING SUSPECT IDENTIFIED/PHOTO

Todd Petrie Jr. mugshotThe suspect in the shooting in the parking lot of New Hope Church on the evening of August 17t, 2016 has been identified as Todd Petrie Jr., 17 year old male, from Portland. Mr. Petrie Jr. is currently at Donald E. Long Detention Center where he is being held on a charge of Attempted Murder.

EARLIER (August 25, 2016, 6:39 a.m.) -- HAPPY VALLEY SHOOTING SUSPECT IN CUSTODY

Happy Valley Police along with The US Marshals Oregon Violent Offender Taskforce and the Clackamas County Sheriff's Office took a 17 year-old male from Portland, into custody without incident today, in connection with the shooting in the parking lot of New Hope Church the evening of August 17th 2016.

The Juvenile is now lodged at the Donald E. Long Detention Center in Portland on charges of Attempted Murder.

The Happy Valley Police would like to thank the hard work of the US Marshals Taskforce in locating the suspect.

Two Clackamas County cities -- Happy Valley and Wilsonville -- contract with the Clackamas County Sheriff's Office to provide municipal police services.

EARLIER (August 18, 2016, 12:11 p.m.) -- VICTIM IDENTIFIED; TIPS SOUGHT

The victim in this incident is identified as 18 year old Frank Nifon, of Happy Valley, OR. Mr. Nifon is being treated for his injuries at an area hospital, and is expected to survive.

The shooting occurred in the Incorporated City of Happy Valley, Oregon.

EARLIER (August 17, 2016, 10 p.m.)

On August 17, 2016, at approximately 8:15pm Officers with the Happy Valley Police Department and Deputies with the Clackamas County Sheriff's Office responded to New Hope Church located at 11731 SE Stevens Rd., Happy Valley Oregon on a report of a shooting. It was reported that a male had been shot in the parking lot of the church.

Upon arrival, it was discovered that a single male adult had been shot multiple times by an unknown male. The victim was treated at the scene and then transported to an area hospital via AMR ambulance services. The victim's condition is unknown at this time.

A search was conducted but as of the writing of this press release, no suspect has been found. A possible suspect description is a white male wearing a red shirt and red hat last seen fleeing the area on foot. Investigators believe at this time that the shooting is an isolated incident. The investigation is continuing.
